Week 7 Report: Custodes (Mike) vs World Eaters (Luc). Custodes Victory

The Auric Dawn shield company could see the Daemon Primarch Angron across the field of battle, eagerly searching for more victims as the World Eaters forces spread out around him, covered in the blood and gore of a recent battle. The traitor marines caught sight of Shield Captain Aurelius and his forces, locking their gazes on them as predators having spotted their prey. Aurelius would not wait for them to advance on his position. The order was given and several squads of the Golden Legion opened fire, advancing on the traitors as they did so and thinning the ranks of terminators at the forefront while focusing their heaviest firepower on Angron himself, bombarding him in a volley that took him off guard. The badly wounded Primarch charged in to Captain Aurelius’s squad, felling half his unit with a swift counter attack. The Terminator clad marines charged in to the next largest squad, seeking as many victims as they could find in close proximity and hammering many down with powerfists as rhinos full of berserkers advanced on imperial positions, eager to join the fray. Aurelius focused his attention on the Primarch, coordinating his unit to surround and attack Angron from too many angles for him to defend. The Deamon Primarch, weakened by the volleys of tank fire, was defeated and banished to the warp. The Custodes surrounded and tore through the rhinos only to be assaulted by the berserkers that poured out of the wreckage, led by Kharn the betrayer, enraged by the defeat of his Primarch. Aurelius met his charge head on, breaking it against his line of guardian spears and slaughtering Kharn and his entourage. As Kharne rose again with the blessing of Khorne to take a final casualty with him in death before being cut down again, Aurelius looked across the battlefield to see the Captain General Trajan Valoris, isolated from his allies, fall to the World Eaters’ master of executions and his berserkers. Hoping to reach the fallen Captain-General and return him to their apothecaries, The Custodes turned all their remaining firepower and scattered forces against this final pocket of warriors, clearing them from the battlefield. Although Angron would eventually reconstitute himself and Kharn would no doubt rise again with Khorne’s blessing, the World Eaters forces had been purged and victory for the Imperium secured.
