Week 8 Report - Imperial Guard vs T'au (Matt)

*WARNING: INCOMING TRANSMISSION: STATUS REPORT FROM THE PROXION SECTOR*

"This is Commander Myrick of the 419th Steel Legion updating our progress. While in the process of resupplying at our temporary Forward Operating Base located in the outskirts of a destroyed colony, a surprise counter-attack hit us from the T'au forces we encountered several months ago. They came prepared this time, bringing much heavier firepower compared to the last time we encountered them, powerful enough to threaten our heavy armor. Why in throne's name didn't our scouts warn us? We took our positions and fought to hold our ground.

Fortunately, our requisition for heavier ordinance came through not long before we were attacked. Along with our Deathstrikes, we were also resupplied with a Banesword, which was sorely needed during this encounter. A shot from their largest unit crippled the Super-Heavy not long into the battle, but it was enough of a distraction that we were able to eliminate the accompanying infantry forces that were on the flanks of their assault. After some time and many casualties to both our infantry and armored units, the damned Xenos gave up on trying to take our position. It will take some time, but our engineers and our accompanying Tech-Priests have already started fixing up the Banesword and a few of the other disabled but not destroyed vehicles.

We'll be continuing our advance into enemy territory as soon as our heavy armor is refitted for combat. In the Emperor's name, the Proxion Sector will be ours. Commander Myrick signing out."
