Week 6 report: Orks (Andrew) vs. World Eaters (Luc) - Winner (orks) Uhvlei15

Daggrit tapped on Grizhak Skag Worldcleava’s armour. His long nails grated just loudly enough to alert the warboss, but softly enough to not merit any undue  attention. Tauria was a jungle world and World Eaters weren’t the only danger lurking here.  Following Daggrit’s gaze, Grizhak looked up to the skies and  could make out the shape of a large beast flying in the distance. Despite the space separating them, the monster’s size was daunting and It’s silhouette seemed to block out Tauria’s moon. Grizhak smiled and knew they’d be in for a fight.

“Howz we gonna deal with dat one boss?” asked Daggrit. “Gitz bang is off somewherez and we culd’ve used im”.

“Dontcha worriez ‘bout that.”  Replied Grizhak, cuffing the little gretchin. “Your ole boss has gotz somethin up iz sleeve.”

The warboss in mega armour turned and walked back to his favorite trukk, Daggrit following in tow. When they arrived at the  back of the vehicle, Grizhak pulled a sheet off of the vehicle’s cargo revealing the biggest kannon Daggrit had ever seen. Daggrit salivated at the site of it.

“We’ve gotz a few more commin soon.” Chuckled Grizhak.

“Alright boyz, start setting up, we’z got a busy day tomorrow.”  bellowed the warboss.

As mobs of kommandos,  boyz and trukks sped off in different directions, Grizhak realized his success depended on luring the beast into a trap. But what could he use as bait? Looking down at Daggrit, Grizhak chuckled.

“ Daggrit, Youz and I ave a specialz mission tomorrow.”

“An watz that boss?” asked the concerned grot.

“We’z gonna be front an center for diz dance, but dontcha worriez, we’ll ave some more muscle wit us in da trukk.”

As the sun rose on Tauria the next day, battle ensued. The locations selected for the ordnance weapons would’ve made even the best blood axe strategist drool. To further increase their chance of winning Grizhak had had big meks with shokk attack guns accompany the groups of kustom mega kannons.  The sheer volume of shots made short work of the spikey marines that tried to flank the ork army. Searing blasts from the kannons turned red and gold armour to black ash. And whatever wasn’t killed by the kannons, was finished off by the shokk attack guns.

The plan was working out perfectly until Grizhak charged into a group of terminators. Underestimating the hulking World Eater figures, Grizhaks retinue of meganobz were cut down in short order, leaving Grizhak exposed. And that is when the red angel found him. Grizhak had heard about this daemon from captured imperial citizens. The “Oomans” of the Proxian sector had referred to him as “Angron”. A daemon that could not be stopped. A creature that could not be killed. As reports from the orks front line emerged, these stories were validated. Killer kanz and beast snaggas had already brought the creature down, and yet here he was standing in front of the warboss. Grizhak knew he had been undone and his last thought before being killed was “ I want dat axe uv hiz.”

Despite the  loss of his favourite trukk, and untimely death , Grizhak’s sacrifice had lured the former primarch into a kill zone. When the kustom mega  kannons opened fire, Angron’s soul was once again sent back to the warp. Grizhak’s forces had also done enough damage to the World Eater’s to ensure that Angron would not be able to be summoned back any time soon.

Crawling from the wreckage that was once Grizhak’s favourite means of transportation, Daggrit went looking for his boss.

It wasn’t long before Grizhak’s remains were found. Despite the resilience of his mega amour nothing could’ve saved the warboss from Angron’s axe, Spinegrinder.

Daggrit looked upon the broken pulp of an ork that was Grizhak and noticed that one of Grizhak’s eyes was still twitching.

“Get da painboyz down here pronto” yelled daggrit at the top of his lungs.

As the ork medics arrived to take charge of the situation, and cart the warboss’ body back to their “operating room” Daggrit thought to himself, “If it worked for Ghazkull, maybe it’ll work for da boss.”
