Week 9 Report - Chaos Space Marines (Luc) vs Eldar (Steve) and Grots (Jon) F110

In the darkest corners of the Proxion Sector, where the flames of battle never cease, Spiritseer Invath found himself in a rather tight spot. His once-mighty wraithhost had been depleted after countless battles and he did not have the forces at hand to take on the presence of Chaos in the sector. With an uncanny knack for negotiating the impossible, Invath managed to forge a most peculiar alliance as he found himself facing the Grot commander Gitbang Boomdakka. Their mission? To combat the dreaded Khorne Chaos Space Marines led by the fearsome Angron. And their terms? Well, let's just say it was a deal that could only be described as, well, grotsome...

Invath, his tall elegant figure standing against the short, squabbling masses of Grots, cleared his throat. "General Boomdakka, we sh--"...

"Dat's General-ADMIRAL Boomdakka to you, pointy-ears!" quickly inserted the grot leader.

Invath rolled his eyes and continued, "...we shall allow your Grots to pillage all the loot from this battle and the nearby city ruins, in exchange for your... 'assistance'."

Boomdakka, perched atop a rickety Grot tank, scratched his head with a wrench. "Lootin', lootin', ya say? Dat sounds right proppa, dat does! But what's in it fer ya? We ain't no fancy space elves."

Invath cringed inwardly but pressed on.  "You see, General, beneath th..."

"GENERAL-ADMIRAL!" interupted the grot, again.

"Yes, of course... beneath this desolate battlefield lies ancient Eldar ruins. We wish to explore them."

Boomdakka raised an eyebrow, or at least what passed for an eyebrow on a Grot. "Fancy elf ruins, eh? Sounds like a right laugh. We got a deal!"

And so, an uneasy peace was struck, as the Eldar spiritseers reluctantly agreed to rely on the Grots, whom they regarded as inferior beings fit only for cannon fodder.

The battle began, and to everyone's surprise, especially Boomdakka's, the Grots were far more effective than expected. Grot mek guns, held together with duct tape, fired with uncanny accuracy, hitting Chaos Space Marines square in the... well, in their chaos bits. Grot tanks, which seemed to be held together by sheer force of collective will, rumbled forward, lobbing explosives like they were squigs in a food fight. But the real highlight of the battle was when the Grot tanks, in a burst of audacity, launched an... overconfident... charge at Angron himself. The plan was simple: overwhelm him with sheer Grot power... and hope for the best.

As they charged, Angron, the towering and bloodied daemon Primarch, looked down in bemusement.

The Grot tanks, an assorted collection of mismatched contraptions, rushed ahead with wild abandon, clanking and sparking as they went. It was a sight to behold, a clash of civilizations like no other! But alas, as they converged on the deamon, disaster struck. Angron, with a single sweep of his axe, sent most of the tanks spiraling into oblivion. Explosions rocked the battlefield, and Grot shrapnel filled the air. The majority of the Grot tanks were obliterated in one spectacular fiery display. However, the explosions caused by a few of the tanks were enough to engulf Angron in a storm of shrapnel and fire. In a twist of fate that could only be described as downright ludicrous, the Grots had succeeded in taking down the giant daemon Primarch...

As the smoke cleared, Spiritseer Invath couldn't help but shake his head in disbelief. The Grots had done it... The battlefield was a smoldering mess of twisted metal and chaos-infused gore, but they had prevailed.

And so it was that the unlikely alliance between the Eldar and the Grots held, even if they still regarded each other with mutual disdain. As for Angron, he would forever be known as the daemon Primarch who met his end at the hands of a Grot charge. A truly grotsome tale for the ages....
