Phase 1 - Rules and functioning Empty Phase 1 - Rules and functioning

Fri 11 Aug 2023 - 13:35
Greetings Commanders!

The first phase of the Proxion Campaign has been underway for a few weeks now and you may have noticed players sharing their victory naratives on the Facebook group; these will now be recorded on this forum, and victory points assigned accordingly.

========================

For Phase 1, players need only to organize games with each other at Teds as they have been doing, through the Facebook page, tagging Pete for tables.

For every individual victory, a Victory Point goes into the pool of your Warlord's corresponding  Faction.  These VP pools will fill up over time as victories are accumulated by Faction members.

Once Phase 1 ends. Those Victory Points will be divided by the number of players representing each faction. The resulting number will equal a Hex tile on the Sector map we will be fighting over in Phase 2.

Example:  There are two Ork players representing the Faction. They accumulate two Victory Points during Phase 1. Therefore the Orks will recieve one Hex on the map (2VP / 2Players = 1Hex).  If there are ten Imperium players representing the Faction; they will need to accumulate ten victories during phase 1 to also recieve one Hex on the Sector map. We'll round up as needed.

========================

While most games at Teds are 1v1. It often happens that players of the same faction team up. Aside from the fun-factor of playing with a team mate, it also allows to free up an extra table or two on Thursdays and permits more games.

In the case of a 2v1 or 2v2; the Duo will be awarded 2 VP for their faction pool.

========================

Rules and functioning for Phase 2 will be released as we get closer to the end of Phase 1.

If you have any questions; feel free to message us!

Phase 1 - Rules and functioning Empty Re: Phase 1 - Rules and functioning

Just read through this but if you are deciding victories by players representing the faction, is that just by those that played their faction that week? If larger faction with more players don’t get a game in each week, it is like they took a loss in regards to the averages. Doesn’t 2 victory points for a team game of the same faction also essentially double their win rate average?

Hey Mike!

Edit; just understood what you were asking.

Yes, its 1 point into the pool per victorious player. Everyone should be able to get a game in, hence the answer to the 3rd question; team ups. If you meant, people not being able to play every week, then there's not much I can do about this, unfortunately. I believe some players across all factions will miss a game or two at some point. We're also rounding up, to help account for absences.

As for teams of 2; it doubles if they win (1 point per victorious player). If they lose they get nothing at all. Similar outcome over 2 weeks if its two 1v1s and one faction member loses and one faction member wins every week. It should average out. Primarily, this is to not "punish" team ups, and allow for tables to free up for the larger demand currently. Otherwise the incentive is only 1v1s on limited tables.

Furthermore; for the Victory Points pool; the games don't have to be only played at Teds on Thursdays (I've added the Custodian victory vs the Necrons to the scoresheet)
